The Harbor was designed and developed for seniors who prefer a more affordable assisted living option, a beautiful home-like setting and a feeling of security. With more than 40 years of experience operating senior living communities, Mr. Caplan and his team realized there was an urgent and unaddressed need for affordable assisted living. This realization became the passion that led to the development of The Harbor - the affordable assisted living option that sets the standard without compromising care, service or peace of mind. The Harbor was thoughtfully and purposefully planned, and it was the right thing to do.
Robert Caplan is a native Houstonian and a University of Texas graduate. He has been dedicated to senior care since 1977. Over the last 40 years, he has owned and operated 47 senior living communities, including independent living, assisted living, Alzheimer’s and skilled care. Robert’s philosophy of care encompasses meeting the individual needs of each resident while preserving their dignity.
Chief Executive Officer
Kevin Caplan serves as Chief Executive Officer for The Harbor. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Mr. Caplan joined Diversified Housing Services, where he served as the company's Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. With nearly 20 years of experience in senior care, Mr. Caplan's vision for exceptional care with high quality service, in a beautiful home-like setting, all at an affordable cost has helped pave the way for The Harbor.
Meet The Team
VP of Management Services
Pat Chadwick began serving seniors 30 years ago as a director for the first licensed assisted living community in Houston. She quickly realized serving seniors was her mission. Pat has led her team in managing over 39 assisted living and memory care communities throughout the United States. She continually strives to enhance residents’ lives and has developed programs that help give residents a sense of purpose. Serving seniors is a ministry to her and she leads and motivates her team to exceed the expectations of seniors and their families.
VP of Operations
Linda Bowser began her career in senior care 30 years ago as the executive director of an assisted living community in Houston. She saw first-hand how seniors can flourish in the assisted living environment when their individuality is respected and their history is honored. She has devoted her career to developing policies and training staff, and has opened 30 assisted living communities across the country. She believes in enhancing the lives of seniors, bringing peace of mind to families, and developing staff in the art of serving seniors.
Dee’s love of seniors began when, as a small child, she played canasta with her grandmother. That childhood play developed into a career of serving seniors, the last 11 years of which have been devoted to assisted living and memory care. She found her true passion in helping families as they face making decisions for an aging parent. Dee will continue her passion for helping families as Director for The Harbor. Her love of helping others also extends to the community. She served on the board of the Community Assistance Providers of Pearland and volunteers for the Alzheimer’s Association. When Dee is not serving her residents in The Harbor, she can be found volunteering with the Houston Area Doberman Rescue and providing pet therapy to seniors at The Harbor, in other senior communities and hospitals.
